Fulton’s Ally McDonald rebounded strongly in Tuesday’s second round of the U.S. Women’s Amateur in Cleveland, Ohio, shooting an even-par 72 but missing the 64-player cut.
McDonald, a rising sophomore at Mississippi State, opened play on Monday with an 80. Her round on Tuesday featured two birdies and two bogeys.
Two former Ole Miss players made the cut – Canadian Natalie Gleadall (70-71–141) and Floridian Haley Millsap (75-74–149). Incoming Rebels
freshman Abby Newton (85-78–163) missed the cut.
The tournament begins match play today.
Korea’s Hyo-Joo Kim (68-68–136) led all qualifiers, edging first-round leader Lydia Ko (66-71–137) of New Zealand.
