GULFPORT— The football coach and athletic director at Gulfport High School is hospitalized after a heart attack that may have started during a game. Mike Justice remained hospitalized Sunday at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.

Assistant athletic director Donny Fuller tells The Sun Herald that Justice complained of chest pains at halftime Friday and went to the emergency room early Saturday. He says doctors put in two stents.

Gulfport led Oak Grove 14-13 at halftime but lost 25-20.

Fuller says officials don’t yet know whether Justice will coach the Admirals on Friday at St. Martin.

WLOX-TV reports that Justice is in his fourth year as coach at Gulfport, where his son Ben is linebackers coach. Justice has been a coach for 33 years, including spots in Northeast Mississippi.
