Hamilton (12-2, 5-0) senior pitcher Dylan Earnest threw a perfect game in Tuesday night’s 6-0 Division 2-2A win at Calhoun City. The ICC-signee allowed one ball to the outfield and that was grabbed on a diving effort from Chase Reeves.
Earnest struck out 13, got two popups and five groundouts.
Earnest (6-0) came into the night with a 0.22 ERA and has allowed only one run. He came into the night batting .525.
“I didn’t even realize it until there was one out in the seventh and got to thinking, ‘he hadn’t even pitched out of the stretch,'” Hamilton coach Lewis Earnest said.
It was his second perfect game in a year, throwing one in an August Legion game for Pontotoc. Earnest has double-digit strikeouts in five of his six wins.
