First Northeast Mississippi hall of fame class to be enshrined today
– BOONEVILLE – Six former high school basketball coaches will be inducted into the Northeast Mississippi Basketball High School Hall of Fame today on the campus of Northeast Mississippi Community College.
The induction ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Bonner Arnold Coliseum.
Sam Richey (Mantachie, Ripley), Malcolm Kuykendall (Belmont, Pine Grove), Harvey Childers (Ripley, New Albany), Zane Hale (North Pontotoc), Robert Hooker (South Pontotoc) and Gerald Caveness Sr. (New Site) make up the first class to be inducted into the newly established hall of fame.
The hall of fame ceremony preceeds four Northeast Mississippi Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Games on the afternoon. The MHSAA Class 3A/4A/5A girls game will be the first game, with tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
The 3A/4A/5A boys will take the floor next at 2:30, with the 1A/2A girls game to follow at 4 p.m. The 1A/2A boys game will close the all-star weekend out at 5:30 p.m.

High School Baseball
NEMCABB All-Star Games to be played today
– CORINTH – Corinth High School will be the site for today’s Northeast Mississippi Coaches Association for Better Baseball All-Star Games.
The MHSAA Class 1A/2A game will start at 2 p.m., with the 3A/4A/5A game to follow at 6 p.m.
