South Pontotoc’s Clay Hood took a short pass from Colton Rogers and broke loose for a 44-yard touchdown as time expired, lifting the Cougars to a thrilling 27-22 win over Hatley in Michael Bradley’s first game as head coach.

The back-and-forth contest had six lead changes, including a Hatley score with 1:33 left that appeared to put the Tigers in the drivers seat.

The Tigers’ Jaylon Jernighan caught his third touchdown of the game, a 25-yarder from Jonathan Waycaster, and Chance Lindsey ran in the two-point conversion for a 22-21 lead.

South’s Von Bean and Hood each scored twice on the night for the Cougars.
