Itawamba AHS golfer Chad Ramey has signed a scholarship with Mississippi State.
The 2009 Mississippi Junior Amateur champion was one of two signees for coach Clay Homan’s team.
Ramey won team and individual Class 4A state titles in 2007 and 2009. He was named the 2008 Mississippi Junior Golf Association Player of the Year.
Tyler Smith of Nashville also signed.
Baseball: MSU’s baseball team signed eight players to national letters of intent Thursday, the first day of the week-long November signing period.
They include outfielder Cody Abraham (Sugar Land, Texas); catcher Brett Bozeman (Sante Fe, Fla., College); outfielder C.T. Bradford (Pace, Fla.); pitcher Victor Diaz (Perth Amboy, N.J.); outfielder Corey Dickerson (Brookhaven Academy, Meridian CC); shortstop Adam Frazier (Bishop, Ga.); shortstop Demarcus Henderson (Wayne County); and shortstop Chase Lewallen (Sumrall).
“We’ve got some very good players in this class,” head coach John Cohen said, “but the most impressive thing about this group is its overall athleticism.”
