ICC basketball teams lose in MACJC tourney

SCOOBA – The MACJC state basketball tournament runs for ICC ended in Wednesday’s semifinals.

The ICC men saw their five-game winning streak end with 79-71 loss to Pearl River (22-4), which extended its win streak to 16 games. Melvin Morgan scored a game-high 28 points in the loss.

Later Wednesday, the ICC women battled back from a halftime deficit before falling 70-63 to Copiah-Lincoln.

The Lady Indians trailed by 23 before cutting the score to 55-54 with about four minutes left. Ebony Williams led the way with 15 points.

Both ICC teams, along with the Northeast men, advance to next week’s regional tourney at Clinton.
