Itawamba AHS baseball player Jared McGonagill, who was injured in a collision during Thursday’s game at Pontotoc has been released from the hospital and cleared to play next week, his coach says.
McGonagill, a senior outfielder, suffered a concussion after colliding with Pontotoc first baseman Nathan White, who was attempting to field a pop fly by the IAHS player on the base path.
“They did all the precautionary tests and everything was negative,” IAHS coach Brian Long said. “He’s fine.”
Doctors advised the player to take the weekend off, but have cleared him to play next week if he doesn’t have a headache.
