Isaac shouldn't alter Southern Miss travel plans

HATTIESBURG — Southern Mississippi doesn’t expect any travel issues as it gets ready to face No. 17 Nebraska on Saturday, even after Isaac brought substantial wind and drenching rains to campus.

The Golden Eagles had to rearrange their practice schedule this week, hitting the field on Monday and Tuesday before taking Wednesday off as the storm slowly moved over south Mississippi. But university spokesman Jack Duggan confirmed the team is expected to practice Thursday afternoon on campus and leave as planned from Pine Belt Regional Airport on Friday.

Southern Miss is located in Hattiesburg, Miss., which is about 75 miles from the Gulf Coast.
