It’ll be a busy week for high school sports

The Northeast Mississippi high school spring sports postseason will be going full throttle this week in baseball, fastpitch softball, golf, tennis and track and field.
BASEBALL
The weather-delayed first-round play-in series resume Monday and possibly Tuesday in all classes. Tupelo, which had an opening-round bye, is scheduled to play its 6A second-round series Thursday, Friday and Saturday, if necessary. The opponent will likely be Northwest Rankin.
SOFTBALL
The weather-delayed second-round series will finish up Monday and Tuesday. The state quarterfinals start Thursday.
GOLF
The 36-hole state golf tournaments for all six classes are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday: Tupelo (6A), Ole Miss (5A), Pass Christian (4A), Madison (3A), Starkville MSU (2A), Saltillo (1A).
TENNIS
The team championships for all six classes are scheduled for Wednesday at Jackson Bridges (2A, 4A, 6A) and Ridgeland (1A, 3A, 5A). Individual state play is scheduled for Thursday and Friday at both sites.
TRACK
Many of the weather-delayed regional track meets are scheduled for Monday. The North Mississippi meets in all six classes are scheduled for Saturday at Potts Camp (1A, 2A), Winona (3A), Pontotoc (4A), Ole Miss (5A, 6A).
