JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — Former Ole Miss running back Darius Barksdale has signed with Jacksonville State.
Gamecocks coach Jack Crowe says Barksdale practiced with the Football Championship Subdivision team on Friday.
The freshman and former Mississippi prep Mr. Football set the Class 5A record with 2,917 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns as a senior at South Panola High School.
Barksdale was arrested Aug. 6 in Batesville and charged with DUI and driving without a license.
The former prep All-American was a part of four straight state champions and unbeaten teams in high school.
He attended Hargrave Academy and South Panola before signing with Ole Miss.
