Jennings hits first HR, goes 3 for 4 to push Rays

OAKLAND, Calif. – Desmond Jennings hit his first career home run and later added a two-run double in a seven-run seventh inning and the Tampa Bay Rays rallied from five runs down to stun the Oakland Athletics 10-8 on Thursday.
Jennings is a former two sport star from Itawamba Community College where he played football and baseball.
He was drafted in the 10th round by Tampa Bay in 2006.
Prior to the 2010 season, Baseball America had Jennings as the sixth-ranked prospect in minor league baseball.
Jennings went 3 for 4 on the day, drove in four runs and also scored two runs. After his big day, Jennings is batting .50since being called up.
