Juco tackle Cooper commits to Ole Miss

OleMissLogoBefore junior college offensive tackle Fahn Cooper showed up in Oxford for his official visit to Ole Miss on Thursday, he was very interested in what Oklahoma and Texas Tech were selling him.

Before he left Oxford on Saturday, he had pledged his services to Hugh Freeze and the Rebels.

In addition to offers from the Sooners, Rebels and Red Raiders, Cooper also had offers from Texas A&M, Arizona State, Illinois, Nebraska and Syracuse.

Cooper, who stands at 6-foot-5 314 pounds, is a junior college offensive tackle from the College of Dupage. He is rated the No. 7 junior college tackle and a four-star prospect by 247Sports.

Ole Miss graduates offensive tackles Emmanuel McCray and Pierce Burton from this year’s team. Cooper is expected to compete for the starting right tackle spot that Burton will be leaving behind. Freshman Laremy Tunsil will return as the starting left tackle.

Cooper originally signed with Bowling Green, where he redshirted and then played as a redshirt freshman. He played at the College of Dupage this past season, so he will arriive in Oxford with two years of eligibility remaining.
