Junior college basketball

FULTON – Freshman Melvin Morgan (Memphis) and sophomore Wesley McIntosh (Houlka) combined for 45 points to push Itawamba (7-3) past East Central 82-66 on Thursday night.
Morgan had 24 points, McIntosh 21 for the Indians. Akeem Cadell (Horn Lake) added 10 points. The hot-shooting Indians shot 63.5 percent from the field (33-of-52).
Steve Edwards had 20 points for East Central (4-6).
The Lady Indians (7-4) won 92-71 as freshman Vetorra Cole (Batesville) came off the bench to score 18 points. Fellow freshman Anna Dill (Fulton) added 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Sophomore Lori Crudup (14 points) and Birdie Bowers (12 points, 11 rebounds, five assists) also helped ICC to its fourth straight win. Hannah Lee had 13 points for East Central (7-3).
ICC goes to Northwest Shoals (Ala.) Monday, then plays its final pre-Christmas games against Motlow (Tenn.) State on Thursday.
– NORTHEAST GAME TIME CHANGE: Northeast’s games at Copiah-Lincoln will start at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, an hour earlier that originally planned. NEMCC has one more pre-Christmas home game scheduled, Monday vs. Arkansas Baptist (2 p.m. tipoff).
