Kossuth baseball team in 3A title series today

PEARL – Kossuth begins its second straight 3A championship series appearance today at 1:30 at Trustmark Park.
Coach Daniel Threadgill was still debating on who would pitch the opener
against Sumrall.
One of two top starters, Josh Whitaker, has only five available innings to
pitch this week due to the 17-inning per week MHSAA rule and the rain delayed North finals series that ended Sunday.
Threadgill doesn’t see it as a major concern.
“The only thing I ever ask our pitchers is to throw strikes. “We want to play solid defense and try to play with them.”
The Aggies (19-13) lost seven starters from last season’s 3A runners-up.
