Kossuth’s Threadgill takes job at Vancleave

By NEMS Daily Journal

Less than a month after leading Kossuth to the Class 3A state baseball championship, coach Daniel Threadgill has accepted the head coaching
position at Vancleave.
The hire is pending Jackson County School Board approval.
Threadgill, 32, went 79-44 in four seasons with the Aggies, his first head coaching job, and went to back-to-back state title series.
A native of Hatley, Threadgill attended Northeast Mississippi and
Mississippi State and began his coaching career as an assistant at Nettleton.
Vancleave reached the 5A semifinals in 2011, but went 14-14 this season.
Kossuth returns a young roster, losing only senior starter Josh Whitaker to graduation.
