Mississippi State’s women travel to Tuscaloosa today in search of their first SEC win of the season. The Lady Bulldogs and Alabama will tip off at 8 p.m. in a game televised by Fox Sports South.
MSU is 10-5 overall, 0-2 in league play following an 88-40 loss to No. 11 Kentucky on Sunday. Playing Alabama could be the remedy, as State has won 10 of the last 13 meetings, including four in a row in Tuscaloosa.
The Lady Bulldogs are led by senior point guard Diamber Johnson’s 17.3 points per game. She and the rest of the team hope to have Porsha Porter back in the lineup. The senior missed the Kentucky game with an injury, and her 14.4 points per game will be needed.
The Crimson Tide (10-7, 0-3) also looks to get off the schneid. It’s paced by Jasmine Robinson (12.4 ppg) and Ericka Russell (10.2 ppg).
