Mississippi State’s women take a two-game winning streak into Hattiesburg tonight for a 7 p.m. clash with Southern Miss.
The Lady Bulldogs (5-2) are coming off a 61-52 win over Utah on Saturday to close out a 3-1 homestand. Junior guard Di’Amber Johnson (Pontotoc) scored a career-high 24 points that game and is averaging a team-leading 14.3 points per game, fifth in the SEC.
Junior Ashley Brown is averaging 11.0 rebounds per game, fourth in the league.
USM (5-3) has also won two in a row, over Arkansas-Little Rock and Tennessee State. The Lady Eagles are led by junior Rachel Vigers’ 16.5 ppg and senior Tanesha Washington’s 14.9 ppg.
This will be the 37th meeting between MSU and USM. State has won the last two, including an 85-52 romp in Starkville last season.
