The nearly famous Ali Warren and Carlie Mapp of Pontotoc have been back at it – winning medals for their Gymnastics of Tupelo competitive team, that is.
Competing in the Luney Tunes Classic at Starkville on Feb. 21 and the Sweetheart Invitational Meet in Madison County on March 1, these two 6 year old, level 2, gymnast made good showings.
There were 25 gyms from Miss. and Ala. that competed in this year’s Classic.
Ali finished third overall with a third in the vault, a second on the bars, a fourth on the beam, and a second place finish on the floor exersises.
Carlie finished fourth all around with a fourth in the vault, a fourth on the bars, a third on the beam and a fourth on her floor rortine.
There were 15 gyms from Miss. competing at Madison County.
Ali won first place all around with a second in the vault, a third on the bars, a second on the beam and a first place finish on the floor routine.
Carlie finished fourth all around with a fourth on the vault, a fifth on the bars, a first on the beam and a fourth on the floor exersises.
Carlie and Ali will be going to the State Meet on March 28 in Starkville.
This summer the two will begin training to compete on level 4 for the 2003-04 season.
Carlie is the daughter of Rayburn and Julie Mapp and Ali is the daughter of Mark and Teresa Warren.
