MACJC state tournament starts today in Tupelo

TUPELO – The MACJC state tennis tournament gets under way at 8:30 a.m. today at Rob Leake City Park, with 10 men’s and women’s teams, including those from Itawamba and Northeast, in action.

Hinds is the defending men’s champion, having edged Copiah-Lincoln in a tiebreaker last year. Jones County is the defending women’s champ. ICC, which serves as the host team this season, finished third in both events.
The top three teams advance to the Region 23 Tournament April 21-22 in Meridian. The state tournament runs through Saturday.
