Booneville offensive/defensive lineman Tyler Floyd has the skills to play at the next level, Blue Devils coach Mike Mattox believes.

Mattox calls the 6-foot-4, 260-pound Floyd a “late bloomer” with lots of potential. College scouts will get an opportunity to see Floyd play in Saturday’s 65th annual Bernard Blackwell All-Star Classic football game in Gulfport.

“We ran behind him all season,” Mattox said. “He’s had a lot of junior colleges up here. Millsaps and some other small schools are starting to show some interest.”

Mattox says his player will need to add some weight to his lanky frame.

“He’s got really good footwork,” the coach said. “Somebody could redshirt him and have them a player.”
