McDonald paces MSU at Rebel Intercollegiate

By NEMS Daily Journal

OXFORD – Sophomore Ally McDonald, from Fulton, shot a career-best 68 on Friday as Mississippi State had a strong opening round in the M&F
Bank Rebel Intercollegiate at the Ole Miss golf course.
MSU was tied with Baylor for second place at 1-over-par 289 – equalling the best round in school history. Coastal Carolina led the 18-team field at 4-under 284.
McDonald’s 68 tied her for the third-lowest individual round in program
history. With five birdies – including one on the final hole – and only one bogey, she’s only 11 birdies away from breaking the singleseason
school record (84). Three players were tied for the lead at 67.
“Ally has had a great year,” MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said.
Ole Miss (291) was in 10th place and Southern Miss was tied for 13th (307).
