CLINTON – The deadline for appeals has passed and the Mississippi High School Activities Association will not be making any additional changes to its reclassification plans for the 2011-2013 academic years.
The MHSAA member schools had until 4 p.m. Monday to appeal its student enrollment figure found in the State Department of Education Finance and Statistic Division’s October monthly report.
The cutoff for Class 6A was 1,085 students; 760 for 5A; 487 for 4A; 305 for 3A; and 197 for 2A, with those schools whose numbers fall below 197 forming Class 1A.
A complete list of MHSAA’s reclassification for 2011-2013 may be found at misshsaa.com.
The MHSAA will soon get to work on designating its member schools to certain divisions within each classification.
