MHSAA track meet runs at Pearl today

The MHSAA Class 2A, 4A and 6A track and field meets are scheduled for today at Pearl High School, starting at 11 a.m.
Pontotoc’s Lady Warriors are the defending 4A state champions. Their rival for this year’s championship trophy will be Corinth. Pontotoc’s boys and girls teams have combined to win 11 state titles under the direction of coach Mike Bain.
In 6A, Tupelo sophomore distance runners Christina Daniels and Darnell Collier are looking to defend their 2012 state titles in the 3,200 meters.
In Class 2A, Potts Camp senior Tenesha Woods returns as the defending state champion in the girls long jump and triple jump.
