STARKVILLE – Mississippi State head coach Jay Miller claimed his 1,000th career victory as the Bulldogs rallied for a 4-3 win against No. 22 Auburn on Friday.
The win moved Miller’s 29-year record to 1,000-655.
Miller became the 13th Division I head coach and 18th among all divisions to reach the milestone.
Mississippi State (20-19, 8-6 SEC) trailed 3-1 going into the bottom of the sixth, but freshman Heidi Shape hit a three-run homer to give the Bulldogs the win.
MSU’s Misty Flesher notched her SEC best fourth save, while Kylie Vry earned the win to push her record to 8-8.
The two teams play today at 11:30 a.m.
