JACKSON — Mississippi lawmakers have agreed to create a state license plate to commemorate the New Orleans Saints’ Super Bowl championship season.
A bill authorizing the car tag passed the House last month, then passed the Senate on Thursday. Now, it’s headed to Gov. Haley Barbour.
People would pay an additional $50 for the Saints tag in Mississippi.
Most of the fee will be distributed to Infinity Science Center, a tourist attraction being built at NASA’s Stennis Space Center in coastal Hancock County.
The bill is House Bill 705.
