STARKVILLE – Mississippi State announced Friday that it will play a home-and-home basketball series with Detroit.
The Bulldogs and Titans, of the Horizon League, will meet in Starkville on Nov. 22, and then State will visit Detroit on Dec. 17, 2011.
This brings MSU one step closer to filling out its non-SEC schedule. Two or three more dates are trying to be filled.
Other non-conference dates for MSU: Nov. 12 vs. Tennessee State, Nov. 19 vs. Appalachian State, Nov. 26 vs. Troy, Nov. 30 vs. Florida Atlantic, Dec. 4 against Alabama State, Dec. 11 against East Tennessee State, and Dec. 13 against a team yet to be announced.
MSU is also playing Virginia Tech in the Bahamas on Dec. 18 and then traveling to Honolulu for the Diamond Head Classic, where it will play Washington State in the first round on Dec. 22, with two more games guaranteed.
