Mississippi State will try to shake off a rough weekend at Auburn when it hosts Mississippi Valley State at 6:30 tonight at Dudy Noble Field.
The Bulldogs (18-11) dropped two of three at Auburn over the weekend, marking three SEC series losses in as many tries. But today begins a five game homestand, which includes three games against Vanderbilt this weekend.
Taking the mound today for State will be freshman Will Cox (2-1, 4.74 ERA), an Amory product. It will be his sixth start of the season.
The injury-plagued Bulldogs are led at the plate by sophomore infielder Adam Frazier (.357).
MSU has won all 22 previous meetings with Mississippi Valley (6-23), including a pair of wins earlier this season, 13-5 and 5-1.
