Mississippi State has finalized its 2012 football schedule, announcing Friday a home date with Middle Tennessee State.
The game will be played Oct. 20 and is one of seven home games for the Bulldogs. MTSU, of the Sun Belt Conference, will receive a $930,000 payout for the game.
It will be the fifth meeting between the teams and the first since 2009, when MSU took a 27-6 victory in Murfreesboro. State has won every meeting.
MTSU was 2-10 this season, including a 1-7 mark in league play.
MSU’s other non-SEC games next season are Jackson State (Sept. 1), at Troy (Sept. 15) and South Alabama (Sept. 22). Louisiana Tech was originally on the 2012 schedule, but during the summer it paid MSU $300,000 to get out of the game.
The SEC schedules are set to come out next week.
