Mississippi State soccer heads to Tupelo Saturday to open spring slate

By Mississippi State University

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State soccer is going on tour this spring, and the show begins Saturday in Tupelo as Neil Macdonald’s squad hosts a free skills clinic and intrasquad scrimmage starting at 10 a.m. at the Ballard Park Sportsplex.

The Bulldogs will conduct a skills clinic from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. for players ages 8-12. The first 50 athletes will receive a free MSU soccer t-shirt.

“We are excited to be bringing Mississippi State soccer to Tupelo on Saturday,” Macdonald said. “Our players have worked very hard in the off-season, and they are thrilled at the opportunity to teach young players the sport while also getting to compete for the fans of OUR State.”

Following the clinic, State will hit the pitch for a 12:30 p.m. scrimmage. Mississippi State returns 10 starters from last year’s squad that upset two nationally-ranked foes en route to claiming the program’s most SEC victories since 2004.
