Mississippi State tops the latest ranking of college baseball facilities as compiled by Paul Swaney for StadiumJourney.com.
“Make this the first stop on your college baseball bucket list for 2014,” said Swaney in his review of Dudy Noble Field, home of the national runners-up for 2013.
Dudy Noble Field nudged out South Carolina’s Carolina Stadium and Baum Stadium at Arkansas for top honors.
The top three college baseball venues and five of the top 10 in the just-released rankings are from the Southeastern Conference
– LSU is No. 7 and Vanderbilt No. 9.
Swaney uses seven categories to rank stadiums and MSU gets five stars on four – food and beverage, atmosphere, fans and return on investment.
Mississippi State hosted a school-record five crowds of 10,000 or better in 2013 on the way to record-setting totals in average (8,130) and total (308,967) attendance in a 51-victory season.
Swayze Field at Ole Miss ranks No. 21 overall, with five-star rankings for atmosphere, fans and return on investment.
