JACKSON — The 2010-11 waterfowl seasons for duck, merganser and coots will be Nov. 26- 28, Dec. 3-6 and Dec. 9-Jan. 30 in Mississippi.
State wildlife officials approved the dates this past week.
The duck daily bag limit will be six, including no more than four mallards of which no more than two may be females), three wood ducks, two redheads, two scaup, two pintail, one canvasback, one mottled duck and one black duck.
The merganser daily bag limit will be five, only two of which may be hooded mergansers.
Coots will have a 15-bird daily bag limit. The possession limit is twice the daily bag limit for ducks, mergansers, and coots.
Late-season Canada goose and brant seasons will be from Nov. 22-Jan. 30. Canada geese will have a three-bird daily bag limit and brant will have a daily bag limit of two birds. The possession limit is twice the daily bag limit for Canada geese and brant.
Snow, blue, Ross’s and white-fronted goose seasons will be from Nov. 20-Jan. 30. Snow, blue and Ross’s geese will have a daily bag limit of 20. White-fronted geese will have a daily bag limit of two.
There will again be a conservation order for snow, blue, and Ross’s geese on Oct. 1-Nov. 19, Jan. 31-Feb. 4 and Feb. 7-March 31. The possession limit for white-fronted geese is four and there is no possession limit for snow, blue and Ross’s geese.
The youth waterfowl weekend will be the weekend of Feb. 5-6.
