Monken: QB decision within two weeks

images-7HATTIESBURG – First year Southern Miss coach Todd Monken expects to have his starting quarterback in place in the matteg of two weeks, he said following USM’s first practice of fall camp on Friday.

Monken currently has three quarterbacks rotating with the first string offense – Cole Weeks, Ricky Lloyd and Allan Bridgford.

“It won’t last all fall,” Monken told the Hattiesburg American of the quarterback battle. “We’ll go one week and then go to two, and after another week, we’ll be at one. I hope it’s not a battle after that. If it is, we’re in trouble.”

Weeks started fall camp as the No. 1 after beating out redshirt freshman Kyle Sloter in the spring.
