STARKVILLE — Mississippi State’s athletic programs received a school-record $37.6 million in private donations over the previous fiscal year.
The total includes all outright gifts and multi-year pledges to the Bulldog Club, Bulldog Foundation and the “Today.Tomorrow.Forever” athletics facilities initiative. It also includes $20.3 million given or pledged toward the planned Leo Seal Jr. football complex that includes a $12 million gift from the Seal family.
The $37.6 million is about $20 million more than the previous fundraising record set last year. Athletic donations have gone up for the past five years, according to the school.
