MSU hosts TCU tonight in first-ever meeting

8TB6_MSU_primary_logoMississippi State returns to the floor tonight coming off two tight victories over Jackson State and Loyola to remain 5-0 at home this season.

The Bulldogs (5-1) will host TCU at 6 p.m. as part of the SEC-Big 12 Challenge in their first televised action on ESPNU.

It will be the first ever meeting between the two programs on the hardwood although the 4-3 Horned Frogs are led by former LSU head coach Trent Johnson.

MSU is led by sophomore shooting guard Craig Sword scoring12.7 points per game. Sword is the current SEC Co-Player of the Week after averaging 18 points and scoring the game-winning baskets against JSU and Loyola.

The Bulldogs are hoping to have freshman point guard IJ Ready available after missing four games due to a hamstring injury.

TCU is coming off a 2-1 showing at the Great Alaskan Shootout, falling to 71-50 to Harvard in the finals on Saturday.
