MSU men’s tennis gains NCAA Sweet 16

STARKVILLE – It’s been 12 years since the Mississippi State men’s tennis program has reached the Round of 16 in the NCAA Team Championship.
Saturday, the 10th ranked Bulldogs (18-9) punched their ticket for the Round of 16, downing the No. 27 Harvard Crimson (19-6) 4-1 at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.
State will face No. 6 Tennessee next Thursday in Urbana, Ill.
MSU rallied to win after losing the doubles point, with singles victories at No. 2 (Malte Stropp), No. 3 (James Chaudry), No. 4 (Jordan Angus, in three sets) and No. 6 (Pedro Dumont).
Freshman Angus had the deciding victory.
