The teams will face off again Monday night. The puck drops at 7 p.m. Admission is $5.
The Bulldogs (2-4) got a hat trick – three goals – from Will Walker to back goalkeeper Chris Pinelli, who made 41 saves.
Corey McCarn scored a shorthanded goal late in the first period that boosted the Bulldogs to a 1-0 lead.
“That goal gave us all the confidence in the world,” said MSU team president Alex Palmer. “We came out in the second period and scored two more quick goals and just keep up the pressure all night.”
Ole Miss (1-6) has lost 2 of 3 matches against the Ice Dawgs this season.
