The public can get a close-up look at Mississippi State’s football team. The Bulldogs open spring drills at 3:45 p.m. today, and the practices are open to the public.
Second-year coach Dan Mullen will lead MSU through practices on Thursday (3:45 p.m.) and Saturday (9:45 a.m.) as well. In all, MSU will hold 15 sessions, culminating in the Maroon-White spring game on April 17 at Davis Wade Stadium.
State is trying to build on a 5-7 season (3-5 SEC) that ended with a 41-27 win over arch-rival Ole Miss. Several positions are up for grabs, including quarterback, tailback and middle linebacker.
Seeing their first on-field action as MSU coaches will be new hires Manny Diaz, the defensive coordinator, and Kevin Wilson, the defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator.
