MSU prepares for SEC, hosts Hawks tonight

8TB6_MSU_primary_logoSTARKVILLE – Mississippi State will get one final non-conference tune-up before entering SEC men’s basketball play.

The Bulldogs host Maryland Eastern Shore tonight at 7 p.m., in the first hardwood meeting between the two programs.

MSU is 9-3 on the year, one win shy of its 2012-13 victory total. The Bulldogs had a four-game winning streak snapped 82-66 by UNLV on Dec. 23 in the finals of the Las Vegas Classic.

Sophomore shooting guard Craig Sword continues to pace State in scoring (15.3). The Bulldogs lead the league and are 11th nationally with 9.8 steals per outing.

Maryland Eastern Shore is just 2-9 on the year falling 82-66 at Virginia Tech on Dec. 31, the Hawks’ seventh straight loss.
