Rising sophomore guard Jacoby Davis has decided to transfer from Mississippi State to be closer his mother.
The Charlotte, N.C. native’s mother Michelle has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and requested her son to return home.
“I fully support Jacoby’s decision to transfer under these circumstances,” said MSU coach Rick Ray in a release. “Jacoby has been a model student-athlete here at Mississippi State but simply wants and needs to get back closer to home to support his mother.”
Davis appeared in 28 games for the Bulldogs last season averaging 2.2 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.7 assists. He tore his ACL prior to his true freshman season in 2012-13 which resulted in a redshirt.
