MSU rounds out ’14 non-SEC schedule with UT Martin

Mississippi State will play UT Martin in football in 2014, athletics director Scott Stricklin confirmed on Monday.
The game, which fills out MSU’s non-conference schedule for that season, will mark the second meeting between the schools. The Bulldogs won the first meeting, 55-17, on Nov. 5, 2011, in Starkville. The 2014 game is set for Nov. 8 in Starkville.
MSU had another FBS school lined up for that slot, but the deal fell through after the sides couldn’t work out a date. So MSU sent out “feelers,” Stricklin said, and UT Martin was able to fit the bill.
State’s other non-SEC opponents in 2014 are Southern Miss, UAB and South Alabama.
