MSU seeks rare win in Nashville

Mississippi State’s women will try to do something they haven’t done since 1981 – win in Nashville.
The Lady Bulldogs travel to No. 21 Vanderbilt today, where they’re 1-16 all-time. That lone victory came 29 years ago.
MSU (12-7, 3-3 SEC) has defeated Vandy once this season, though, taking a 90-76 decision in Starkville on Jan. 7. Since that win, the Lady Bulldogs have dropped three of four, including a 66-58 setback at Ole Miss on Thursday.
Including the loss in Starkville, Vanderbilt (14-5, 3-3) has lost three of its last five. The Lady Commodores, who defeated Auburn 61-60 on Thursday, are led by senior guard Merideth Marsh, who’s scoring 15.3 points per game.
Senior guard Alexis Rack continues to pace MSU with 19.7 points per game, while Armelie Lumanu is contributing 12.9.
