MSU softball squad still in tourney hunt

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State missed a chance to get a game up on two rivals for the 10th and final SEC softball tournament berth, losing
5-4 on Sunday to South Carolina.
The Bulldogs (31-19, 7-14) were swept by the Gamecocks (30-20, 7-14),
with Texas A&M (31-19, 7-14) also in the mix for that final playoff spot.
Sunday’s game was the home finale for the Bulldogs, who visit A&M next weekend. South Carolina will be home against Florida (47-6, 16-5).
REBELS FALL: Ole Miss (23-31, 3-21) lost 5-1 at home to Texas A&M, losing the weekend series.
