Mississippi State begins its on-field preparations for the Music City Bowl today. The Bulldogs will take the field at 5 p.m. for a closed practice.
The next five practices will be open to the public and media, as will a scrimmage at Davis Wade Stadium on Dec. 16. Practices will then be closed Dec. 17-20, and the Bulldogs will take a few days off before reporting to Nashville on Dec. 26, where they will practice at Vanderbilt University.
Coach Dan Mullen said the first couple of days will be like spring practices, with a focus on fundamentals and teaching, and younger players will get plenty of snaps.
MSU’s opponent, Wake Forest, will begin practices Saturday. Coach Jim Grobe said the first week of practice will be light because of final exams.
The Bulldogs (6-6) and Demon Deacons (6-6) will meet Dec. 30 at LP Field.
