MSU’s SEC opener at night; Ole Miss-Texas airing locally

Mississippi State will open its 2013 SEC schedule in prime time.

On Tuesday, the SEC announced kickoff times and TV information for the first three weeks of the season, and MSU’s game at Auburn on Sept. 14 will start at 6 p.m. It will air on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.

A week prior to that, State’s home opener against Alcorn State is slated for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff on CSS. The Aug. 31 season opener versus Oklahoma State, in Houston, had already been set for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff on ABC and ESPN2.

Ole Miss found out that its Week 2 home game versus Southeast Missouri will begin at 6 p.m. on pay-per-view. The season opener, Aug. 29 at Vanderbilt, was already scheduled for 8:15 p.m. on ESPN, while the Sept. 14 game at Texas is at 7 p.m. on the Longhorn Network.

The Texas game will also be available on several stations in Mississippi and Memphis, including WCBI.
