Former Mississippi State offensive tackle Derek Sherrod signed a four-year, $6.6 million contract with Green Bay on Friday, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The deal includes $5.32 million in guaranteed money.
Sherrod was drafted by the reigning Super Bowl champs with the final pick of the first round in April. He was the first Bulldog in 15 years to be taken in the first round.
Sherrod was a three-year starter at left tackle for MSU, and he earned both All-SEC and All-American honors as a senior, helping lead the Bulldogs to a 9-4 record and Gator Bowl victory over Michigan. He anchored a line that was key to one of the nation’s best rushing attacks.
