MudCats can't convert conversion for win on road

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Mississippi MudCats fell 45-44 to the host Florence Phantoms in an indoor football game on Saturday night.

The MudCats scored late to pull close but failed on a two-point conversion pass attempt that could have won it.

The loss is the third in the last five games for the MudCats (10-3), with all the losses coming on the road. The Phantoms, who lost by 49 points in Tupelo in March, improved to 4-9.

The 'Cats are on the road next Saturday at Erie, Pa.
