New soccer coach at Delta State

CLEVELAND — Paul Babba to the position of head coach of the Lady Statesmen Soccer program at Delta State.

This spring, Delta State split the men and women’s programs into separate coaching positions. Babba will begin his job on June 1.

Babba comes to Delta State from Mississippi College where he spent four seasons as an assistant to head coach Darryl Longabaugh. While at MC, Babba coached the Lady Choctaws forwards and midfielders.

Babba was a four-year starter at Belhaven College. The Numan, Nigeria native closed his career as the Blazers’ second all-time leading scorer with 37 goals.
