OXFORD – Despite allowing just two hits in the game, errors doomed Ole Miss as the Rebels dropped the series finale 4-0 to No. 23 LSU on Sunday.
Ole Miss starter Kendall Bruning did not allow a hit through the first four innings but ran into trouble in the fifth.
After a pair of walks around a single loaded the bases, a dropped fly ball off the bat of LSU shortstop Juliana Santos allowed two runs to score.
A fielding error allowed another run to score and left fielder Ashley Langoni added an RBI single later in the inning that put the Tigers up 4-0.
The Rebels (14-36, 3-20 SEC) mustered just one hit in the game, a Brittany Barnhill single, in the fifth inning.
In the series sweep, LSU (31-15, 13-9) outscored Ole Miss 16-0.
Ole Miss will travel to Kentucky for an SEC doubleheader on Wednesday.
