Northeast baseball signs Tennessee standout

BOONEVILLE – Blake Drabik of Germantown, Tenn., inked with head coach Kent Farris at a signing ceremony at the library of Houston High School in front of family and friends to become the newest member of the 2013 signing class.

Drabik is a right-handed pitcher for the Mustangs and will look to add his talent into the mix from the mound for Farris and company in the near future.

“Blake [Drabik] is a great kid and comes in well coached and from a place that is full of good people,” Farris said. “We are very excited about signing Blake and we think he will be successful here at the next level.”

Drabik is coached by Lane McCarter who was selected as the 2005 AAA Coach of the Year and led his team to the State Runner-up in 2010.

“Blake is a hard worker here for us and we know he will do the same at the next level,” said McCarter. “This was a big day for Blake and we are all very proud of him.”

Drabik’s hard work paid off last season as a junior for the Mustangs. Drabik posted and overall record of 3-1 on the mound in 22 innings pitched with an impressive 1.24 earned run average and 20 strike outs with a 0.97 average of walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP).
